Goals for Teams 🎯

Sleuth now supports team-level goals!

Many of you told us you loved the idea of setting goals and receiving automatic "nudge" notifications in Slack, but you wanted to set them for teams, not projects. Sleuth now brings all the same great features of project-level goals (suggested goals, Slack notifications, etc.) to individual teams. Check out the help doc to learn more!

Use Jira as a metric impact source!

Now, in addition to acting as an incident impact source, Jira (and Jira datacenter) can also be used as a metric impact source!

This feature allows you to define a JQL query that returns a count of Jira issues matching your filter criteria, and that count can then be used to indicate environment health. A common use case here would be defining a health threshold for the count of currently open bugs.

For more information on setting up Jira as a metric impact source, check out the help doc!

Announcing Goals for Sleuth!

Sleuth's new Goals dashboard helps teams set, track, and achieve their goals!

Here's how it works:

  • Sleuth automatically suggests efficiency goals based on teams' historical metrics.
  • Teams can accept suggested goals or create their own.
  • Sleuth automatically notifies teams in Slack as they begin to drift from the goals they’ve set.
  • Sleuth keeps teams up to date on how they’re performing against their goals over time.

Issue breakdowns now in Sleuth!

Sleuth now provides breakdowns by issue type and issue status for the issues your team is shipping!

The new Issue breakdowns chart, visible from the Project Metrics, Team Metrics, and Work in Progress dashboards, provides visibility into the status and type of any issues referenced by the PRs you have in focus on those dashboards. For Project Metrics and Team Metrics, this means you can see breakdowns for issues you've shipped, while Work-in-Progress now displays breakdowns for issues that you're about to ship!

The chart also provides a clickable drill-through to a detailed listing of those issues with links to their source records in your issue tracker. Check out this help doc for more!

View environment drift details right from Sleuth!

Sleuth now provides detailed visibility into the specific deploys, PRs, commits, and issues that comprise the drift between any two environments!

Minimizing drift contributes positively to all four DORA metrics. With this latest improvement, Sleuth now not only quantifies drift in terms of deploys and time but also shows the specific changes that need to be resolved in order to bring two environments in sync. Global Navigation Revamp 🧭

That's right, we've reimagined Sleuth's global navigation experience to make finding what you're looking for a breeze 🏝

This update includes:

  • A new top-level global navigation bar for accessing any organization-wide views (like Organization Settings, User Settings, Search, and the org-wide Status, Trends, and Compare dashboards)
  • A new context picker for bringing a particular Project or Team into focus
  • A context-sensitive left-hand-navigation pane for browsing items that are specific to your selected Project or Team (displayed only when you have one in focus)
  • A number of usability and scalability enhancements, like the new type-ahead search for selecting Projects, Teams, Code Deployments, and Impact Sources
